Cupertino’s agenda should be guided by a vision for success, not reactive decision-making or special interest lobbying. Tracy is the Cupertino City Council candidate who will bring strategic focus needed to create a safe, vibrant future:
Cupertino must stabilize its budget in order to be able to invest in amenities and infrastructure that benefits our community at large. I am a strong proponent of responsible budget management that avoids raising taxes or fees on our already cost-burdened residents. On the Cupertino Planning Commission and Economic Development Committee, we are working on streamlining permitting for both residents and businesses. By enabling businesses to launch faster, and residents to upgrade their homes more quickly, not only do we help them succeed, we also drive more tax revenue to our city.
We must also continue auditing and reducing expenses where possible. I will work hard to ensure public spending is directly tied to delivering results, with evaluation relative to key metrics. By focusing spending and staff time strategically, we can restore long-term fiscal stability to Cupertino.
Focus resources on initiatives that benefit the broader community, rather than a select few:
Make public safety a top priority. Delivering on that commitment means taking decisive, measurable action across our community:
Cupertino is losing retail while adding housing, creating a stark imbalance between residents and the businesses needed to serve them. As Chair of the Cupertino Planning Commission, I have a track record of supporting balanced growth that helps both our businesses and residents succeed.
I helped approve new housing along Cupertino's major thoroughfares that is walkable to local businesses, and will bring more families into our city. Meanwhile, I am working to help our businesses thrive through proper zoning, faster business permitting, and support programs for existing businesses. We can allow for new housing in the heart of our city, while upholding existing parks, businesses, and neighborhoods.
Cupertino continues to struggle with one-size-fits all state mandates that eliminate control over our city’s future and create widespread community concern. We can and should continue to advocate regionally for greater local control. I will stand firm on supporting policies that strengthen local control – because we know what our city needs the best.
